Oak Alley Plantation, located on the west bank of the Mississippi River in Vacherie, Louisiana, is famous for its picturesque avenue of 28 evenly spaced live oak trees. These trees form a stunning canopy that stretches 800 feet from the mansion to the river, creating one of the most iconic and photographed scenes in the South. The plantation, built in 1837-1839, was originally a sugar cane plantation and has been featured in numerous films, including โ€œInterview with the Vampireโ€ and โ€œPrimary Colors.โ€
